We have had excellent results in the treatment of bulging and herniated disc problems. When the vertebrae in the spine are misaligned this will in turn alter the biomechanics of that joint. If the bones surrounding the disc are not motioning properly, this can predispose the disc to bulge or eventually become herniated. Regular chiropractic adjustments will ensure that your spine is functioning at its best and help to prevent injury.
A herniated disk refers to a problem with one of the rubbery cushions (disks) between the individual bones (vertebrae) that stack up to make your spine.
A spinal disk is a little like a jelly donut, with a softer center encased within a tougher exterior. Sometimes called a slipped disk or a ruptured disk, a herniated disk occurs when some of the softer “jelly” pushes out through a crack in the tougher exterior.
There are many terms used to describe spinal disc pathology and associated pain, such as “herniated disc,” “pinched nerve,” and “bulging disc,” and all are used differently and, at times, interchangeably. For lumbar and cervical herniated discs, conservative (non-surgical) treatments can usually be applied for around four to six weeks to help reduce pain and discomfort.
