Dr. Ken Whidden is a highly respected Destin area chiropractor and founder of Emerald Coast Chiropractic. A native of Northwest Florida, he grew up in Chipley, Florida. He brings decades of discipline, precision, and commitment to excellence from a distinguished military career into his chiropractic practice serving Destin, Miramar Beach, and the entire Emerald Coast.Military Service and Aviation CareerAfter high school, Dr. Whidden enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He completed Electronics Technician “A” School and U.S. Naval Nuclear Power School before earning an NROTC scholarship to Auburn University, where he graduated with a B.S. in Aviation Management in 1984. He went on to serve as a naval aviator and flight instructor at NAS Whiting Field in Milton, Florida. Over his 31-year career, Dr. Whidden accumulated more than 5,000 flight hours in fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters. He retired in 2009 at the rank of Captain. He remains an active pilot and holds an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license along with Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) ratings.
Chiropractic Education and Practice
Following his military retirement, Dr. Whidden pursued his passion for helping others through natural healthcare. He graduated magna cum laude with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University in Marietta, Georgia. He has been a licensed chiropractic physician in Florida for over 25 years and founded Emerald Coast Chiropractic to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the Destin and Miramar Beach communities.

Community Involvement
Dr. Whidden is an active member of the Emerald Coast Auburn Club and the Okaloosa County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). He continues to pursue advanced education to better serve his patients’ chiropractic and wellness needs. Dr. Ken Whidden lives in the Destin/Miramar Beach area with his wife Kathy. Their children, Dr. JD Whidden and Dr. Jess Whidden, serve as associate doctors at Emerald Coast Chiropractic’s Grand Boulevard office in Miramar Beach, making it a true family practice dedicated to exceptional patient care.
